The last Area Council Meeting/Regional Council Meeting (ACM/RCM) prior to the AreaCon in Cagayan de Oro is held at the Alindahaw Lakeview Resort in Biswangan, Lakewood, Zamboanga del Sur.

The meeting is to give updates on all the local organization presidents and inform everyone of what is happening in their respective organizations and gave suggestions or concerns they have to the national board that may help create positive change. After the days work its meetings and trainings to all the delegates, its so nice to experience and be in love with majestic, mystic & cool view of the lake like banana boating, dragon boat race and enjoy the night party awaits to all participants. Its nice to unwind and relax after a stressful and busy working days in this lovely nature.

The new breed of JCI Trainers!

One of the many benefits offered to all the members of this movement is to attain self-confidence through trainings. JCI Kagayhaan Gold is look up due to its successful in producing many JCI Trainers and one of them the highest title a trainer may earned is to become the International Trainer Fellow (ITF) and we are proud that the LOM has one of the four ITF’s in the country in the person of JCI Sen. Mennen Aracid (1999 LOM President).

This year, during the 2010 Asia Pacific Conference in Singapore last June 2-6, we were able to produced five (5) new certified JCI Trainer’s during the conference. The five new trainers are mary jossel dispo, sky love agot, arvin don bandojo, franco catajoy and michael jackrod tuyan. Also, the LOM produced one (1) new certified local trainer (CLT) mr. luzmar gabor, a graduate of jci trainer in singapore in january 2009.

Asia Pacific Conference in Singapore

One of the many opportunities in JCI is the international where one will meet and interact and share their experience of being a jaycee both here and abroad. This years Asia Pacific Conference (ASPAC) is set in Singapore wherein all JCI members in Asia and the Pacific will come together to share, unwind, relax and met friends across the region.

JCIKG are fortunate enough to sent atleast 5 delegates to the conference after many years of not participating in the international conference. As a member of this organization for a few years its really nice to experience and enjoy the convention with the new found friends during our stay specially the party during the national night .

Adopt a Tree!

In cooperation of the national organization think green program, the LOM implemented its own way to contribute to the fulfillment of the NOM’s program by doing “Adopt a Tree Project”. It was held at the forest view of pueblo de oro, cagayan de oro city.and was participated by JCI Cagayan de Oro, JCI 24k Macajalar and JCI Bailawanen. It was chaired by Coco Buzon.

Day 3 – 1st Cagayan de Oro Speech Olympics

The participants are now excited of who will be the over-all champion of the 1st Cagayan de Oro Speech Olympics after two days of speech competition. The schools division superintendent of the division of cagayan de oro city Ms. Myrna S. Motoomul gave her encouragement to all the schools and students who joined the speech competition and express her support to the JCI Kagayhaan Gold for this noble work in developing the skills of the students as what the DepEd did to the Voice Over Philippine Democracy. There are 8 schools competing each other for the radio drama (a group presentation),the last event competition of the olympics.

Day 2 – Cagayan de Oro Speech Olympics

The second day of the Speech Olympics. This is one of the most enjoyable day of the competition where different schools will have a group presentation – the one act (short & sweet) play. Each group participants have five (5) members to show their skills in stage acting with the theme “responsible parenthood”. There are seven (7) schools participating for the one act play and ten (10) schools for the original persuasive oratory. National Executive Vice-President for Area 5, JCI Mem. Vincent K. Pelaez gave his inspirational message to the participants and express his gratitude to the organizers for making the speech olympics successful.

The 1st Cagayan de Oro Speech Olympics – Day 1

The long awaited program of Kagayhaan Gold the 1st Cagayan de Oro Speech Olympics (COSO) was held at the event center of SM Cagayan de Oro City. Asst. Regional Director Myla Fe Balandra of Population Commission Region 10 give her opening remarks and support and appreciation to the organizers in making the Speech Olympics successful. There were two speech competitions on day 1, which are the declamation and extemporaneous speaking. There was 21 student participants representing 21 schools from the Deped Division of Cagayan de Oro City both from public and private schools.

Speech Olympics Launching

The 1^st Cagayan de Oro Speech Olympics (COSO) is a Speech Development and an English Speaking Advocacy project with the aim of developing the students in the area of speaking in the various forms. As this is the first year of implementation, it is hoped that this will be successful in its implementation and the support of various sectors will be given.

Initially, the organizers have adopted 5 categories of competition. This will be expanded to other categories depending on the success of this year’s implementation.

At this time when DepEd has implemented the sports competition through the Palarong Pambansa and writing competition through the National Schools Press Conference, it is hoped that this 1^st Cagayan de Oro Speech Olympics will become a model for its implementation nationwide dubbed as National Speech Olympics!

Taken during the DepEd management committee meeting (ManCom) last January 28, 2010 and coach briefing on February 01, 2010 at the DepEd CIC hall.

This will be a 3 day event on March 10 – 12, 2010 every 1 o’clock in the afternoon at the Atrium of SM City Cagayan de Oro .

The project will be on March 8 – 12, 2010 at the Atrium of SM City Cagayan de Oro .

The JCIKagayhaan Gold Board of Officers, Members and Baby Jaycees celebrated its Christmas Party last December 12, 2009 at the Boystown in Brgy. Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City. It was an afternoon filled with fun and surprises for the more than 30 kids of Boystown and the JCIKG members.
